[ THE CHALLENGE ]
Pepsi wanted to stand out at winter activations, not just hand out cans, but create a moment people would talk about long after the event ended. The challenge: design something that feels genuinely fun, infinitely replayable, and visually unmissable in a crowded event space.
[ THE APPRAOCH ]
We designed the Pepsi Slope Challenge as a full-immersion VR snowboarding experience. Players strap in, grab the controller, and are transported to a Pepsi-branded mountain, vibrant red and blue runs, gates, pepsi-hot air balloons, massive cans and pepsi post mix waterfalls alongside jump zones, and a leaderboard that keeps everyone competitive.
To make it a shared experience, we integrated an iPad signup process and a double live-feed screen so the crowd could cheer on the "live" run.
We engineered the difficulty curve to be instantly accessible but deeply replayable, if you are good enough the first run is your best, if not come back and try again to beat your score and find new pepsi desings to see
[ THE RESULT ]
A roadshow across 8 SnowWorld venues and the Hague winter market. We turned a solo headset moment into a public competition filled with fast runs, big laughs, and real brand engagement.
People could experience the Pepsi brand in a fully immersive way seeing Pepsi come alive inside a game environment with both subtle and obvious Pepsi and SnowWorld branded elements throughout. The experience ran across two separate campaigns, with the installation travelling to new locations each time, and guests returning specifically to play again.
Locations: Terneuzen, Breda, Landgraaf, Zoetermeer, Amsterdam and Den Haag 3 days at each. The activation returned for a second winter campaign and is coming back again this winter.
"Leuk dat je dit voor ons hebt willen realiseren, echt een leuk beeld van hoe het spel wordt gespeeld en het beeld de game en de locaties." Pepsi / Vrumona stakeholder
